Yes you heard it here first. Well hopefully you heard from us first, and here second. We will be living in Ethiopia for two years beginning on October 6th of this year, and we're very excited. A quick lesson on Ethiopia - they have wonderful cuisine, a varied but fairly warm climate, fast runners, and one of the world's highest percentages of HIV/AIDS affected citizens, along with a heavy dose of poverty.
We will be traveling to Ethiopia with 40 other Peace Corps volunteers, and all of us will be serving in some capacity with AIDS. Liz's role will be in AIDS awareness education, and she will have opportunities to work closely with children and other individuals in a counseling and caring role. Chris is also working with AIDS, helping start a micro-enterprise program with women affected by AIDS.
We're really excited to live abroad for the first time, and are equally excited to go to a country with so much history, beauty, and such a convergence of cultures (one main convergence being Orthodox Christianity and Islam).

Ethiopia is one of the few African nations never colonized, although the Italians did occupy for a few years, leaving spaghetti as a staple food item today.
